Aviva Michaelov is a seasoned design professional currently serving as the Digital Design Director and Design Director at The New Yorker since January 2016. In this role, Aviva oversees brand guidelines and maintains high-quality standards for the presentation and experience of various New Yorker expressions, collaborating closely with the photo department and editorial teams to shape the magazine's design direction. Prior to this, Aviva worked at The New York Times from November 2004 to December 2015 as the Art Director of the Opinion Pages, focusing on the Op-Ed page and Sunday Review section, and contributed to the digital design team on special features. Aviva's earlier experience includes roles as an Interactive Designer at R/GA and a Designer at Pixelpress LLC. Aviva holds a BFA in Graphic Design from Parsons School of Design, attained between 2000 and 2004.
