Blenda Pinto

Blenda Pinto is a trustee at The Newark Museum of Art. Blenda previously worked as an associate state director and federal registered lobbyist for AARP from July 2006 to July 2011. In their role at AARP, they were responsible for advancing comprehensive governmental, legislative, political and public affairs campaign strategies.

Pinto has extensive experience working with state and federal government officials, campaigns, and candidates. Blenda has managed statewide election efforts, coordinated press conferences and editorial board meetings, and served as a spokesperson for AARP in print and radio interviews. Blenda is also experienced in financial reporting and compliance for lobbying activities.

In addition to their work with AARP, Pinto has also served as a trustee at The Newark Museum of Art since July 2011. In this role, they have helped to shape the museum’s strategic direction and overseen its collections, exhibitions, and programming.

Blenda Pinto attended Rutgers University, where they earned a B.A. in Women Studies & Theirpanic Caribbean U.S. Relations with a concentration political science/public policy.
