The News-Gazette
Mary Lucille Hays is a Senior Lecturer at Zhejiang University, teaching composition at the International Campus of ZJUI since January 2020, and at the University of Illinois since August 2019. Additionally, Hays has contributed as a columnist for The News-Gazette since March 2008, writing the weekly column "LETTER FROM BIRDLAND," which focuses on nature and community. Hays holds a Master's of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Murray State University (2015-2017), a Master's of Arts in Creative Writing from City College of New York (1990-1992), and a Bachelor's degree in Rhetoric from the University of Illinois (1979-1990).
