Abigail Friedman

Abigail Friedman's work experience includes roles at various organizations spanning from 2006 to the present. Abigail currently holds the position of Director, Talent at The News Literacy Project since July 2023. Prior to this, they served as a Senior Manager, Talent at the same organization from April 2022 to July 2023.

Before joining The News Literacy Project, Abigail worked at Uncommon Schools as a Human Resources Associate from January 2019 to February 2022. Their responsibilities included creating employee contract templates, leading school leaders through the recruiting and hiring process, managing vendor relationships with DocuSign, and handling employee time-off requests and benefits administration.

From July 2016 to January 2019, Abigail was employed at Democracy Prep Public Schools, where they held various HR roles. These included serving as an HR Coordinator & Certification Specialist from July 2018 to January 2019, an HR Associate & Certification Specialist from July 2017 to July 2018, and an HR Associate from March 2016 to July 2017. During these positions, they provided support in HR operations, coaching HR associates, managing employee data reports, and maintaining confidentiality.

Abigail's earlier experience includes working as an Associate at Kasowitz, Benson, Torres & Friedman, LLP, where they prepared legal correspondence and litigation documents from September 2014 to February 2016. Abigail also served as a Teaching Assistant for Torts at New York Law School from August 2012 to December 2013, and as a Summer Intern in the Individual Client Group at Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel LLP from May 2012 to July 2012.

Additionally, they volunteered at The Innocence Project from March 2010 to May 2010, taught first and second grade at Staten Island Academy from August 2007 to June 2009, and worked as an Assistant Teacher at Oak Lane Day School from August 2006 to June 2007.

Abigail Friedman's education history includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in Latin Language and Literature from Swarthmore College. Abigail also attended New York Law School, where they pursued general coursework in Juris Doctor, but it is unclear whether they obtained a degree in this field.
