James Andrews has a diverse work experience in the food industry. James is currently working as the Head of New Product Development at The Newt in Somerset since October 2022. Prior to this role, they served as the Head of Production and Development at the same company, starting in January 2022 and ending in November 2022.
Before joining The Newt in Somerset, James worked at Oscar Mayer Group UK for almost a decade, starting in March 2012 and ending in June 2021. During their time there, they held the position of Head Concept and Development Chef, leading the concept team in designing ready meals for major UK supermarkets and food brands. James also supported the integration of new software into one of the manufacturing sites within the group.
James started their career at Premier Foods as a Development Chef from January 2010 to January 2012. Prior to that, they were the Chef Patron at Bruton House Restaurant, overseeing all aspects of the business and creating an award-winning dining experience from September 2004 to December 2009. James also worked as the Head Patissier at Hambleton Hall from April 2000 to June 2004.

James Andrews attended the Paul Heathcotes School of Excellence from 1998 to 1999, where they earned a Higher National Diploma in Cooking and Related Culinary Arts. Prior to that, from 1996 to 1998, they studied at the University of Liverpool and obtained an Associate's degree in Philosophy and Russian Literature.
