The Night Ministry
Michael VanOeveren has extensive experience in ministry and healthcare, currently serving as an Outreach Minister at The Night Ministry since October 2014 and as a Chaplain at Midwest Palliative & Hospice CareCenter since September 2010. Previously, Michael held the position of Geriatric Case Manager at North Shore Senior Center from November 2010 to April 2011 and completed a Chaplain Internship at Presbyterian Homes between September 2008 and May 2010. Michael earned a Master of Divinity from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary from 2007 to 2010 and a Bachelor of Arts in Interpersonal and Public Communication from Central Michigan University from 2004 to 2007.

Mission Statement: The Night Ministry is a Chicago-based organization whose mission is to provide human connection, housing support, and health care to those who are unhoused or experiencing poverty. With an open heart, we compassionately accept each individual as they are and work alongside them to advocate for their immediate physical, emotional, and social needs while affirming our shared humanity.
