Joan Long

Ensemble Member, Lighting And Set Designer, Membership Committee at The NOLA Project

Joan Long is an accomplished theatre professional with extensive experience in production design, technical direction, and education. Since May 2013, Joan has served as an Ensemble Member, Lighting and Set Designer, and member of the Membership Committee at The NOLA Project, a theatre company dedicated to engaging New Orleans audiences. In addition, Joan has been the Technical Director at the New Orleans Ballet Association since February 2011, overseeing all technical aspects of professional dance concerts. As a Production Designer for Joan Long Design and Production, accolades include being named the 2016 Big Easy Theatre Person of the Year and winning a 2011 Big Easy and Ambie Award for Best Lighting Design. Educational roles include instructing set design courses at Loyola University New Orleans and Tulane University. Joan's academic background includes degrees in Theatre from Kent State University and Tulane University, along with a Master's in Landscape Architecture from Louisiana State University.
