The North Carolina Theatre
Jonathan McCarter is an experienced arts professional with a diverse background in theatre and education management. Since October 2011, Jonathan has served North Carolina Theatre in multiple roles including Education, Outreach, & Business Manager, Stage 2 School Administrator, and Call Center Manager, overseeing a staff of 10 and generating significant weekly revenue. Prior to this, Jonathan held the position of Artistic Director at Jonesborough Repertory Theatre, where responsibilities included managing mainstage productions, developing an eight-show season structure, and directing educational programs. Additionally, Jonathan worked as the Director of Education and Outreach at Opera Memphis, where oversight of outreach programs impacted over 30,000 participants annually, and Jonathan was instrumental in developing educational initiatives and coordinating events. Jonathan holds two Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees in Theatre/Theater from The University of Memphis, earned between 2000 and 2004.

North Carolina's premier nonprofit professional AEA theatre production company. NCT produces live theatre, from Broadway and West End revivals, at the Martin Marietta Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Raleigh. NCT offers classes, camps and creates high school level productions at The North Carolina Theatre Conservatory. NCT Conservatory provides education, training, and apprenticeship in musical theatre, dance, acting, and singing for ages five-adult and skill levels beginner to Broadway.
