Alan Reiss

Alan Reiss is a seasoned professional in public service, currently serving as the Director of Operations for The North East Combined Authority since March 2025. Previously, Alan held multiple leadership roles at the West Yorkshire Combined Authority from October 2018 to March 2025, including Chief Operating Officer and Director of Strategy, Communications, and Intelligence. Alan also served as Chief Executive and Chief of Staff for the Durham Police, Crime and Victims' Commissioner from July 2014 to September 2018. Alan's extensive experience in policy and strategy development includes significant positions at the Department for Education and the Department of Health, where contributions led to the advancement of key legislation and educational reforms. Alan holds a Master of Arts in International Relations and a BA in Politics and International Studies from the University of Warwick.
