Director, People Development at The North West Company

Eric Loewen has a diverse work experience spanning different industries. Eric currently works as the Director of People Development at The North West Company since April 2023. Previously, they served in multiple leadership roles at Princess Auto Ltd., including Senior Leader for Future Growth, Learning & Team Engagement, and Learning Design. Eric also worked as the Team Leader for Royal Service Academy and an Instructional Designer at the same company. Prior to that, Eric was an Instructor at Red River College, where they taught courses on Web 2.0, Social Media Strategy, and Digital Portfolio Development. Before that, they had an extensive tenure at Lifetouch, where they held positions such as National Manager for Training & Development, Training and Operations Specialist, and Department Manager/Lead. Finally, they started their career at Future Shop as a Sales/Customer Service employee.

Eric Loewen attended Athabasca University from 2015 to 2019, earning a Graduate Diploma in Leadership. During the same period, they also obtained a Leadership Development Certificate from Athabasca University. In 2014, they completed a Certificate in Adult Education from Red River College Polytechnic. Additionally, in the same year, they received a Certificate in Human Resource Management, specializing in Human Resources, from Red River College Polytechnic. Eric Loewen has also obtained various certifications, including Prosci® Certified Change Practitioner (2023), Creating a Top Talent Program (2023), and Human Resources: Strategic Workforce Planning (2023) from LinkedIn. Eric became an International Certified Mentor - Practitioner Intern in 2015 from the ICM Society and a Craftsman of Photographic Arts (CPA) in 2014 from the Professional Photographers of Canada. In 2013, they became a Certified Trainer through AchieveGlobal.
