Mayu Nakano

Mayu (May) Nakano currently serves as Attorney 2 at The Ohio Department of Taxation, a position held since January 2023. Prior experience includes roles as Associate Attorney and Law Clerk at Schulze Howard & Cox from August 2021 to January 2023, as well as Law Clerk at Anthony Law, LLC from September 2020 to May 2021. Mayu also gained judicial experience as a Judicial Extern at the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas and the Division of Domestic Relations and Juvenile Branch. Earlier legal internships took place at the Franklin County Prosecutor's Office and Nationwide. Mayu holds a Doctor of Law (JD) from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature/Letters and Japanese from Miami University. Additional academic experience includes a study abroad program at Sophia University in Japan. Early career work involved retail and tutoring positions.
