Brian Hackworth

Brian Hackworth is a seasoned security engineer at The Ohio State University with extensive experience in Splunk log management, incident response, and intrusion detection. Since November 2013, Brian has collaborated with various campus departments to optimize data ingestion and visualization in Splunk while evaluating and modifying Splunk apps for stability and usability. Previous roles include supervising student workers in security incident investigations and serving as a liaison to the OSU Police to gather evidence for criminal cases. Prior to their current position, Brian held roles as a network engineer at OARnet, a technology specialist at the Educational Service Center of Central Ohio, and a network support technician at MDECA. Brian earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Wright State University.
