Janel Ezzell

Janel (Suburu) Ezzell is a seasoned professional in the field of biotechnology and intellectual property, currently serving as the Director of Business & Portfolio Development at The Ohio State University’s Drug Development Institute, where responsibilities include managing healthcare technology portfolios and engaging with faculty. With a background as a Patent Agent at Nexsen Pruet, PLLC, and as a Patent Specialist at Smith Moore Leatherwood LLP, Ezzell possesses extensive experience in patent application processes and strategic IP management. Previous roles include co-founding Bespoke Therapeutics and engaging in technology commercialization at Wake Forest Innovations, where innovative projects were developed and executed, garnering significant funding. Ezzell holds a Ph.D. in Cancer Biology from Wake Forest University School of Medicine and a B.S. in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from UC San Diego.
