Heidi Karlsson

Heidi Karlsson currently serves as the Director of the Open Footprint®️ Forum at The Open Group, focusing on the development of environmental sustainability standards and open source data models for greenhouse gas emissions. As the Founder and CEO of Eco Blue Ocean, Heidi advocates for sustainable artificial intelligence solutions to enhance ocean resource management. Previous experience includes a role as a Senior Consultant at ERM, specializing in sustainability strategy and M&A due diligence, as well as founding SEA Resolutions, which fostered global collaborations to enhance stakeholder engagement. Heidi holds a Master of Arts in Cultural Studies and Environmental Conflict Resolution from Southern Methodist University and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences from Michigan State University, along with further educational experiences in Japan and London.
