Elaine Tam Yi-Lam

Elaine Tam serves as the Director of Student Affairs, who is committed to enriching students' university experience. Student Affairs Office (SAO) is a unit that strives to promote students’ wellness on multiple fronts and plays a role to foster students’ personal growth. SAO is also a partner of academic and other professional units to build a vibrant campus environment in which students can achieve their unique aspirations.

Elaine obtained her Bachelor of Arts from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and Master of Science in Management from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

Elaine started her career as an administrator in the School of Science of The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and contributed to enhancing and internationalizing the School’s network, student profiles as well as student exchange and development programs. She was subsequently promoted to Assistant Director in the Undergraduate Programs Office and School Administrator in the School of Business and Management in 2008 and 2013 respectively.

In 2015, Elaine joined The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) as Administrative Director in the Undergraduate Office of the Faculty of Business Administration in CUHK. She made contributions to the curriculum revamp and development of dual degree programs, successful delivery of experiential learning initiatives, and leadership programs. She also oversaw quality assurance, student advising and student recruitment, admissions, and scholarships of the Faculty. With her leadership, the Faculty successfully applied for the Belt and Road exchange grant from the HKSAR Government two years in a row, providing precious opportunities for students to expand their international horizon.
