John Howland

Chairman at The Original Bradford Soap Works, Inc.

Under John’s leadership, Bradford has become a prominent force in the personal care industry. He joined Bradford in 1978, spent his early years working in the operations and sales end of the business, and advanced to President and COO in 1983. He is the second generation of the Howland family to lead the company, having succeeded his father, Allen, as CEO in the early 1990s. John received a BA in Economics from Amherst College. After serving in Vietnam and then receiving his MBA from Columbia University, John worked as a security analyst for three Wall Street firms: Lehman Brothers, Jas. Oliphant & Associates and Merrill Lynch. John's research focused on the high technology sector. For several years he was a top-rated analyst by Institutional Investor magazine. In 2016, John transitioned into the role of Chairman making way for Bradford's current President Stuart Benton.
