Samuel Ging has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Samuel started their career as a Videographer and Content Creator at Bloomfield Township, where they filmed and edited videos for cable television and managed social media outreach.
Samuel then moved on to work as a Digital Media Manager at the GVSU Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, where they designed and managed marketing channels, created content for a startup-focused publication, and organized university-wide entrepreneurial events.
Afterward, Samuel joined Grand Valley State University as a Web Developer for The Kirkhof College of Nursing, where they were responsible for web development projects.
Samuel then transitioned to work as a Marketing professional at GR Current, a high-growth tech company incubator, and Emerge West Michigan, an entrepreneur support organization. In these roles, they managed marketing channels, launched digital platforms, and developed education and networking events.
Later on, Samuel joined Invest Detroit Ventures as a Program Manager and eventually became a Program Director for their Hacker Fellows Program. Samuel supported emerging tech talent by offering paid fellowships and internships with Michigan startups, and provided salary support to participating companies.
Their most recent position is as a Product Manager at The Outloud Group, where they are currently employed.
Samuel Ging completed their Bachelor of Nonprofit Administration & Information Technology from Grand Valley State University between the years 2008 and 2013. During this time, they focused on Public Sector Information Technology. Afterward, from 2014 to 2016, Samuel pursued a Certificate of Web Design/Development at Grand Rapids Community College, specializing in Web Design and Development.
