The Pad Project
Pooja Muthuraj is a Foundational Public Health Services Coordinator at the Virginia Department of Health since May 2025, focusing on population health and preparedness initiatives. Pooja is currently involved with multiple organizations, including the Virginia Interfaith Center for Public Policy as an intern promoting higher education access for incarcerated learners, and The Pad Project with the role of US Programs Chair within the Ambassador Program. Additional experience includes serving as Lead Facilitator at Tribe Innovation to implement Design Thinking processes, engaging as Youth Outreach Coordinator for Sylvia's Sisters, and contributing as a Research Affiliate at the Schroeder Center for Health Policy. Pooja’s research experience spans data collection and analysis with AidData and the Federal Geographic Data Committee, supporting disaster risk resilience. Pooja holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics and Public Policy from William & Mary, having previously attended the Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School.
