Maria Stavrou

Maria Stavrou has over 10 years of experience in operations management. Maria currently holds the position of Operations Director at The Payments Association, where they lead product development, data analysis, and risk mitigation. Maria is also responsible for overseeing company KPIs/OKRs and team performance. Prior to this, they worked as the Head of Operations at The Payments Association, managing the delivery of various events and collaborating with departmental heads to enhance the membership product offering. Maria has also worked as a Freelance Operations Manager at Front Line Genomics and Lendlease. Maria has experience in organizing conferences and events, sourcing and managing suppliers, and developing operational plans. Maria previously held roles as an Operations Manager at Climate Action and Clarion Events, where they organized logistics for international conferences and exhibitions. Maria began their career as a Conference & Incentive Executive at the Andy Spyrou Group.

Maria Stavrou completed their education at Northumbria University from 2008 to 2011, where they obtained a BSc (Hons) in Communications and Public Relations. Prior to that, they attended The Heritage Private School from 1999 to 2008, completing A-levels and GCSEs in Business Studies. Maria also holds a certification in IOSH Managing Safely from THE INSTITUTION OF OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH.
