Tim Hewitt MVO is an accomplished security specialist with extensive experience in close protection and operational risk management. Currently serving as the Director of Security and Operational Risk at The Peninsula Hotels, Tim previously held key roles within the Metropolitan Police from 2007 to October 2024, including Close Protection Team Leader and Head of Personal Protection Team to Queen Elizabeth II, where Tim ensured comprehensive security for high-profile individuals and major events. Tim's career includes leadership positions addressing complex security challenges, providing protection for government officials and senior royals, and managing sensitive investigations. Previous experience with Devon and Cornwall Police included leading covert operations against drug and firearms trafficking. Tim holds a BA (Hons) in Criminal Justice, Organisational Studies, and Psychology from the University of Plymouth and has furthered education through the College of Policing.
