Kaitlin Foley

Music Teacher at The People's Music School

Kaitlin Foley is an accomplished music educator and performer with extensive experience in vocal instruction and choral conducting. Currently, Kaitlin serves as a Voice Instructor and Conductor at North Park University, alongside conducting roles at the Merit School of Music and Evanston Township High School. Kaitlin also directs high school vocal ensembles at Niles West High School and has been a Music Teacher at The People's Music School since 2015. In addition to teaching, Kaitlin is an active performer as a Soprano with the Grant Park Music Festival and as a vocalist, composer, and arranger with the Chicago-based trio, Artemisia. Kaitlin's educational background includes a Master's Degree in Voice Performance from DePaul University and a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from the University of Missouri-Columbia.

The People's Music School

The People's Music School is the only completely tuition-free music school in Chicago, and the oldest in the United States. The school was founded in 1976 by Dr. Rita Simó, an accomplished pianist from the Dominican Republic who believed that all children should have access to music education, regardless of their family's socioeconomic status. Today we serve over 1,600 students in the Chicagoland metropolitan area and beyond. Through intensive instruction and performance our students learn more than music. They grow socially, emotionally and intellectually, and develop a foundation of responsibility, self-esteem and purpose. We believe music is transformative and empowers the lives of youth, families and communities.
