Derek Lance

Derek Lance is an accomplished fundraising professional with extensive experience in the arts and cultural sector. Currently serving as the Senior CRESCENDO Campaign Director at The Phoenix Symphony since September 2025, Derek is responsible for driving a comprehensive $60 million campaign in collaboration with executive leadership. Previously, Derek held significant roles including Vice President for Development at The New York Historical Society and Director of Major Gifts and Planned Giving at the New York Philharmonic, where oversight of donor programs and major gift cultivation contributed to the organization's sustainability. Derek also served as Major Gifts Officer at the San Francisco Ballet and Individual Giving Officer at the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, managing substantial portfolios and securing major contributions. Derek holds a Master of Music in Clarinet Performance from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a Bachelor of Music in Music Performance - Clarinet from Northern Arizona University.
