Deanna Garcia is an accomplished communications professional with extensive experience in public media. Currently serving as a Communications Officer at The Pittsburgh Foundation since October 2017, Deanna has also been the Acting News Director at 90.5 WESA since October 2011, where responsibilities include planning coverage, assigning stories, and managing a team of reporters. Previous roles at 90.5 WESA include Assistant News Director and Chief Assignment Editor, as well as Senior Reporter focused on Arts and Culture. Deanna's prior experience includes work as the All Things Considered Host/Reporter at KUNC, a Reporter/Program Host at WXXI Public Broadcasting Council, and an intern at NPR. Deanna began a journalism career at KRWG as a Student News Reporter. Deanna holds a B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communications with a focus on Broadcast Journalism from New Mexico State University.
