Mark Higgins

Director Of Motor Carrier Experience at The Port of Virginia

Mark Higgins has extensive work experience in various roles within the logistics and transportation industry. Mark began their career at Bay Electric Co., Inc. in 2004, where they worked as a Systems Administrator for a year. In 2005, they joined APM Terminals as an Assistant Operations Manager, and later took on the role of Senior Assistant Operations Manager -- Automation. During their time at APM Terminals, Mark was a key member of the project team for the U.S.'s first Automated Marine Terminal, where they developed and implemented training programs and standard operating procedures. Mark joined The Port of Virginia in 2010 as Manager of Network Engineering, and later held the positions of Project Manager Gate Automation and General Manager of Planning and Automation. Currently, Mark serves as the Director of Motor Carrier Experience at The Port of Virginia.

Mark Higgins attended Old Dominion University from 2021 to 2022, where they studied Intercultural/Multicultural and Diversity Studies. Prior to that, from 1999 to 2003, they attended Louisiana State University, where they earned a degree in Information Systems and Decision Science with a focus on Management of Information Systems.
