Katie Balderson has extensive experience in corporate governance and management, currently serving as the Corporate Director and Estate Secretary at The Portman Estate since June 2009. This role involves overseeing governance, reporting to trustees and the board, leading the corporate responsibility program, and managing compliance activities. Previous positions include Company Secretary at Red Bee Media, formerly BBC Broadcast Limited, from April 2002 to April 2009, and Executive Assistant to the Chief Executive at English Heritage from May 1997 to April 2002. Katie has a Master of Arts in Modern History from the University of Oxford and is currently pursuing further education at the London School of Economics and Political Science, alongside previous studies at Birkbeck, University of London.

The Portman Estate comprises 110 acres of Marylebone in London’s West End, including frontages to Oxford Street and Baker Street. It covers 69 streets, 650 buildings and four garden squares, containing over 700 directly managed residential units, 290 office units, 150 shops and restaurants, 27 hotels and seven pubs.
