Bill Tavares

Bill Tavares is an experienced communications professional with a strong background in sports journalism and media relations. Currently serving as the Communications Manager at The Preservation Society of Newport County since October 2018, Tavares previously held roles as Director of Communications and Broadcast for Mohegan Sun and managed media relations for the Connecticut Sun and New England Black Wolves. Tavares began a career in journalism as a sportswriter for the New London Day and Norwich Bulletin, covering various sports, including UConn football and women's basketball, as well as professional boxing and auto racing. Tavares holds a BA in Journalism from the University of Rhode Island and has furthered education at The University of Stirling in Scotland.
