Vijay Joshi

Vijay Joshi is the current Editor-in-Chief and CEO at The Press Trust of India Limited. Vijay has over two decades of experience in the field of journalism, having worked previously as a news director, news editor, and correspondent for The Associated Press.

Joshi began their career with The Associated Press in 1989 as a correspondent in the India office. In their five years with the company, they covered a range of stories including earthquakes, the anti-monarchy revolution in Nepal, and the Tamil insurgency in Sri Lanka.

In 1994, Joshi was promoted to news editor for The Associated Press, overseeing news operations for Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia. Vijay held this position until 1997 when they were promoted to news director for Southeast Asia. Vijay held this position until 2017 when they left The Associated Press to become Editor-in-Chief & CEO at The Press Trust of India Limited.

Vijay Joshi earned a Bachelor of Communications and Journalism from Osmania University, a Master of Science in Marine Geology from Andhra University, and a Bachelor of Science in Geology from Osmania University.
