Miyo Yamashita has extensive work experience in various leadership roles. Currently, they serve as the President & Chief Executive Officer at The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation. Prior to this, they worked as the Director of Strategy and Operations at Schwartz Reisman Institute for Technology and Society. Miyo also served as the Director at Windmill Microlending and the Chief Strategy Officer at MindBridge Ai. Before that, they held significant positions at Deloitte Canada, including Managing Partner, Chief Transformation Officer, and Chief of Staff. Miyo also worked at TD as the Global Chief Privacy Officer and Vice President Social Media Compliance. Earlier in their career, they were a Partner at Deloitte and the founder and Managing Partner of Anzen Consulting Inc. Miyo Yamashita began their career as the Chief Privacy Officer and Director of Community Integration at the University Health Network.
Miyo Yamashita began their education at the University of Manitoba, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. After completing their undergraduate studies in 1991, they went on to attend McGill University. There, they obtained a Master of Arts degree in Communications, which they pursued from 1991 to 1993. Following their master's program, they continued their studies at McGill University and completed their education with a Ph.D. in Communications between 1993 and 1998.
