Gilbert Verschelling is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in innovation and technology leadership within the food and beverage industry. Currently serving as Chief Technology Officer at The Protein Brewery since September 2025, Verschelling previously held significant roles at dsm-firmenich as Head of Innovation and Sr Director of Strategic Marketing & Innovation for Beverages, where responsibilities included developing and executing innovation strategies and defining marketing initiatives. Prior to that, Verschelling was Director of Business Development and Innovation for Savory Ingredients at DSM, overseeing innovation pipelines and leading the plant-based meat and fish alternatives platform. Verschelling's earlier career at Unilever spanned nearly three decades, culminating in the role of R&D Director for Transforming Innovation, where a new global Foods innovation center was established. With a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering from Eindhoven University of Technology, Verschelling's expertise encompasses project management, innovation processes, and strategic marketing.
