Joy Aquilino has a long and varied work experience in the publishing industry. Joy started their career at Van Nostrand Reinhold as a Senior Editorial Supervisor from 1988 to 1989. Joy then became an Associate Managing Editor, managing the production and schedules for 120 titles per year. In 1990, they were promoted to an Assistant Managing Editor. Joy worked at Watson-Guptill Publications from 1992 to 1999, where they started as a Developmental Editor and was later promoted to Associate Editor. Joy then joined Watson-Guptill/Potter Craft as an Executive Editor from 1999 to 2011, where they managed the Potter Craft list and supervised acquisitions and editorial work. Joy also had a short stint as an Editorial Consultant in 2011 before becoming the Editorial Director at Sixth&Spring Books from 2011 to 2014. Currently, they work as the Editorial Director at The Quarto Group, where they started as an Acquiring Editor and was later promoted to the Editorial Director position in 2019.
