Karen Lyttle

Director Of Technology at The R&A

Karen Lyttle has a diverse work experience in various roles. Karen is currently the Director of Technology at The R&A, a position they have held since November 2022. Prior to this, Karen was the Head of Digital Development at The R&A from March 2020 to November 2022. Karen also served as the Digital Development Manager for both The Open & The R&A from October 2018 to March 2020 and The Open from July 2016 to October 2018.

Before joining The R&A, Karen worked as a Digital Media Producer at Whitespace from April 2015 to July 2016. Karen also had experience as a Service & Communication Designer at Thrive HQ from September 2013 to April 2015, where they worked on a two-year project called Better by Design. Prior to that, Karen was involved in Community Engagement and Public Consultancy at WeDundee from March 2013 to August 2013. Karen also worked as a Service and Experience Designer at HobbyHouse from January 2011 to August 2013. Lastly, Karen had a role in Community Engagement at V&A at Dundee from 2012 to 2013.

Karen Lyttle's education history includes a Master of Design for Services degree from the University of Dundee, which they obtained from 2012 to 2013. Prior to that, they completed a BA(Hons) in Interior and Environmental Design from the same university between 2008 and 2012. In 2007 to 2008, Karen attended the University of Dundee for Year 1 Architecture. In addition to their academic qualifications, they have obtained certifications as a Scrum Master and Scrum Product Owner from the Scrum Alliance, with the Scrum Master certification obtained in February 2017 and the Scrum Product Owner certification obtained in October 2016.
