Morgan Butler

Principal, Digital Communications at The Raben Group

Morgan Butler is The Raben Group’s director of digital communications. A social media expert, content strategist, and creative, Morgan’s mission is to build out Raben’s range of creative and digital offerings for its clients, helping them communicate effectively with their target audiences online.

Before joining Raben, Morgan served as the engagement and outreach manager for Public Policy at Twitter. She drove its U.S. government engagement program, representing Twitter with government partners at the federal, congressional, state, and local levels. Morgan taught partners how to harness the power of Twitter and also led efforts on some of the platform’s most significant conversations, including the 2022 midterm elections. She also served as the liaison between Twitter and many nonprofit partners — working with the Twitter For Good team to disperse in-kind ad credits while leading the creative strategy for policy campaigns and activations. Prior to that, Morgan spent four and a half years as a digital and creative director in Congress, serving as the first-ever digital director for Representative James Clyburn (D-S.C.) during his time as House Majority Whip. She also served in digital and creative roles for Senator Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) and the Joint Economic Committee. In her roles on the Hill, Morgan built and managed custom social media strategies, utilizing original video content, unique graphics, and high-quality photos to garner millions of monthly impressions online. She also produced two podcasts during her time in Congress — one of which quickly rose to the top 100 in Apple Podcast’s Government category.

As a retired college athlete, Morgan fuels her love of sports by working part-time as an in-house television director at the Capital One Arena for Washington Wizards and Georgetown Hoyas (think Jumbotron). Morgan holds a master’s degree in Communications from Johns Hopkins University and a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from Grambling State University. In addition, she sits on the board of Project Transformation D.C.
