Alex Tan

Alex Tan has a diverse work experience in various industries. Alex is currently a Co-Founder at Recommend Group, where they oversee product strategy, digital marketing strategy, and content strategy for home services platforms in Malaysia and Indonesia. Previously, they served as the Managing Director at Halfborg Software and as the Content Services Director at Ying Communications, handling content production for Fortune 500 clients. Alex also worked as an Account Director and Account Manager at Ying Communications, managing technology clients such as Cisco Systems and Microsoft. Alex began their career as a Software Developer at Avanade, where they eventually led a team of .NET developers.

Alex Tan attended Imperial College London from 1996 to 2000 and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BEng). Alex then enrolled at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) from 2000 to 2001, where they earned a Master's degree in Management of Information Systems (MSc). In addition to these academic qualifications, Alex has obtained several certifications throughout their career. Alex became a Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD) in June 2003, earned an Inbound Certified certification from HubSpot in December 2013, and most recently obtained a Google Analytics Certification from Skillshop in February 2023.
