Michelle Nelson

Michelle Nelson is an experienced journalist and editor with over 25 years in the field, currently serving as the News/Presentation Editor at The Register-Guard since 2016. Proficient in the Lightning content management system, Adobe InDesign, and InCopy, Michelle manages website content, edits stories, writes headlines, and designs pages across various sections. Prior to this role, Michelle was the Managing Editor at Noozhawk (2008-2016), where responsibilities included overseeing site content, monitoring community issues, and supervising a team of reporters and writers. Earlier experience includes serving as a Copy Editor at The Register-Guard (1997-2008), where Michelle edited stories, designed news pages, and contributed to the publication of an outdoor recreation magazine. Michelle holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Oregon.
