Heather Rousseau is an accomplished visual journalist with a strong background in investigative reporting and multimedia storytelling, currently serving as The Secular Society Fellow at The Roanoke Times since January 2015, focusing on refugee and immigrant communities. Rousseau has extensive freelance experience with notable organizations including The Denver Post, Detroit Free Press, and National Public Radio. Previous roles include Chief Photographer at The Dubois County Herald and Aspen Daily News, where Rousseau initiated the multimedia department. With a Master’s degree in Design and Visual Communications from Ohio University and a BFA in Photography from College for Creative Studies, Rousseau has cultivated a diverse skill set in photography, videography, and reporting.
