Matt Case is a sports reporter with extensive experience in journalism, currently working at The Roanoke Times since July 2023. Previously, Matt held the positions of sports editor and sports reporter at Rapid City Journal Media Group from September 2020 to July 2023, and reported on sports for The Meridian Star from July 2019 to September 2020. Matt's background includes coverage of high school, junior college, and Division I athletics, as well as multimedia content production for print and online platforms. Earlier roles include a sports correspondent for the Boston Globe Media and internships at GateHouse Media New England, The Berkeley Beacon, Arlington Community Media, and WCAX-TV. Matt holds a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from Emerson College, completed in 2019, and has received two Evvy Awards for Outstanding Sports Article during tenure at Emerson.
