Devon Denn-Young

Props Mistress at The Rose Theater

Devon Denn-Young is currently the Props Mistress at The Rose Theater. Devon has over fifteen years of experience in the theater industry, with a focus on costume design and construction. Prior to their current position, Devon was the Head Costume Designer for the Summer Season at Brownville Village Theatre, where they were responsible for designing 3-5 shows each season and overseeing young costume designers for remaining productions. Devon has also worked as a Technical Director & Adjunct Instructor at Peru State College and as a Costume Designer and Adjunct Instructor at Doane University. In 2005, Devon relocated to Japan to work for NOVA Corporation as an English instructor and Children's Classes Coordinator. In their free time, Devon enjoys hiking and spending time with their two rescue dogs.

Devon Denn-Young’s educational career began with a high school diploma from Lincoln Southeast High School. Devon then went on to earn a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts from Nebraska Wesleyan University in Technical Theatre/Theatre Design and Technology. Finally, they completed their education with a Master’s of Visual and Performning Arts from Charles Sturt University in Costume Theirtory, Fashion Theory, & Curriculum Development.

Their manager is Sarah Buck, Director of Production. They are on a team with Lisa Krabbenhoft - Resident Stage Manager, Trent Grooms - Scenic Charge Artist.
