Ellie Harvey is a skilled botanist with extensive experience in plant taxonomy and conservation. Currently serving as the Centre for Middle Eastern Plants Project Officer at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh since January 2023, Ellie has also held the position of Flora of Nepal Research Assistant, focusing on taxonomic revisions of Limnophila and Verbenaceae. Previous roles include serving as the British Lichen Society Archivist and Conservation Assessment Officer at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, where Ellie created Global Red List assessments for endemic Peruvian Begonia species. Additionally, Ellie worked as an IUCN Redlister at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, contributing to crucial reassessments of Cola species and developing Red List reports for Cameroon and Guinea. Ellie holds a Master's degree in Biodiversity and Taxonomy of Plants from The University of Edinburgh and a Bachelor's degree in Geography from the University of Nottingham.
