Emma Nicolson

Research Associate at Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh

Emma Nicolson has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Emma held various roles at the Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh, including Head of Creative Programmes and Interim Head of Public Engagement. Prior to that, Emma was the Founding Director of ATLAS Arts in Isle of Skye, where they played a key role in curatorial direction, organizational development, and fundraising. Emma also worked as a Senior Manager in Education & Access at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney, Australia, and held positions at the National Galleries of Scotland and Fife Council.

Emma Nicolson is currently a doctoral student at Duncan of Jordanstone, University of Dundee, specializing in contemporary art. Prior to this, they obtained a BA hons degree in printmaking from Edinburgh College of Art. Emma also holds an MA degree from Moray House Institute of Education and a PGCE qualification from the University of Greenwich, although the field of study for these degrees is not specified.
