David Parker

David Parker has a diverse background in event management and venue operations. David is currently serving as the Commercial and Events Director at the Royal College of Physicians, where they are responsible for leading a multimillion-pound business operation and overseeing events and conference planning. Prior to this role, they held positions as the Director of Conferences and Events and the Deputy Director of Meetings and Events at the same organization. Before joining the Royal College of Physicians, David served as the General Manager at the Mermaid Conference and Events Centre, where they had overall management responsibilities for the venue. David also worked as the Hospitality and Events Manager at Imperial College London for nearly a decade. With their extensive experience and expertise, David has demonstrated their ability to successfully manage and grow various event and conference businesses.

David Parker completed their Bachelor's degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology at The University of Auckland from 1985 to 1989. Prior to that, they received a University Bursary in Science and Economics from Howick College, where they studied from 1982 to 1985. David also holds additional certifications, including being Green Star Certified by Southern Vermont College in November 2020. David has diplomas from the British Safety Council and The Chartered Institute of Environmental Health, specifically in NEBOSH, Food Safety level 4, and Health and Safety level 4. Furthermore, they are a member of the Institute of Hospitality with the MIH designation, as well as a member of BIFM, the professional body for facilities management.
