Melanie de Souza is an accomplished marketing executive with extensive experience in the tourism and hospitality industries. Currently serving as the Executive Director of Destination Marketing at The Royal Commission for AlUla since December 2019, Melanie previously held the position of General Manager of Digital, Marketing Services and Strategy at Visit Victoria from July 2017 to January 2019, where responsibilities included strategic marketing planning and leading consumer insights functions. With a long tenure at Tourism Victoria from 1998 to 2017, Melanie excelled as the Director of Marketing and Airline Services and General Manager of International Marketing, driving award-winning campaigns that significantly boosted international tourism growth in the state. Earlier roles as Director of Sales and Marketing at Oberoi Hotels & Resorts in Australia and Regional Director of Sales and Marketing for Eastern India and Nepal showcase a solid foundation in luxury hotel marketing. Melanie holds an MBA in Marketing from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Calcutta University.
