Osama Hussein is an experienced infrastructure and renewable energy professional currently serving as the Infrastructure Development Manager at The Royal Commission for AlUla since August 2022. Previously, as the Project Development Director at Safeer, a joint venture between Total and Altaaqa, Osama played a key role in launching the first DG solar company in Saudi Arabia and establishing strategic partnerships in the region. Osama's earlier experience includes serving as the Head of Design and Engineering at Altaaqa Alternative Solutions, where responsibilities included initiating the renewable business and developing the "SolarWorld" retail concept, as well as serving as Technical Sales Manager in the same company. Additional roles include Senior Application Engineer at Zahid Tractor and Field Application & Installation Engineer at Mantrac Group, with a strong foundation in electrical engineering obtained through a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Cairo University.

The Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU) was established to protect and safeguard AlUla, a region of outstanding natural and cultural significance in North-West Saudi Arabia. RCU is embarking on a long-term plan to develop and deliver a sensitive, sustainable transformation of the region, reaffirming it as one of country’s most important archaeological and cultural destinations and preparing it to welcome visitors from around the world. RCU’s development work in AlUla encompasses a broad range of initiatives across archaeology, tourism, culture, education and the arts, reflecting the ambitious commitment to cultivate tourism and leisure in Saudi Arabia, outlined in Vision 2030.
