Roy Alexander Weise has a diverse range of work experience in the theatre industry. Roy Alexander currently serves as the Joint Artistic Director & CEO at the Royal Exchange Theatre, where they are responsible for setting core values, developing creative strategies, and leading a staff team of 75 people. Roy Alexander has played a significant role in programming and creatively producing over 300 productions, schemes, events, and participatory opportunities. Additionally, they have directed productions himself and collaborated with other artists. Prior to their role at the Royal Exchange Theatre, they worked as a Freelance Theatre Director at the National Theatre, where they directed a UK revival of Athol Fugard's Master Harold and the Boys. Roy Alexander also served as a Resident BBC Theatre Fellow at Bush and Lyric theatres, where they worked as a Theatre & Film Director.

Roy Alexander Weise attended Rose Bruford College from 2008 to 2011, where they earned their Bachelor of Arts degree in Directing.
