Nicholas Cryer is a seasoned professional in the field of agricultural science, currently serving as a Senior Water Scientist at the Royal Horticultural Society since July 2023. Previous experience includes roles as Associate Principal Scientist at Mondelez UK R&D Ltd from January 2018 to January 2023, and Director at Tropical Agricultural Consulting Limited from January 2013 to February 2018. Nicholas contributed to the cocoa sector as a Scientific Committee member for IDH The Sustainable Trade Initiative, focusing on fertilizer recommendations and plant science projects. Earlier positions include consulting on sustainable cocoa agriculture at Mondelez International and Kraft Foods Group, as well as a Research Fellow at the University of Reading, specializing in cocoa genetics and physiology. Nicholas holds a PhD in Biology from Royal Holloway, University of London, and has completed advanced training in Plant Breeding for Drought Tolerance and Crop Protection.
