Alan Miller is an Honorary Fellow of the Institute of Physics and a Fellow of the Institute of Physics (UK). Alan also holds the title of Honourary Research Fellow and Director at the University of Glasgow. Additionally, Alan is the Co-Director of European Crucible and Scottish Crucible. At Heriot-Watt University, Alan serves as a Professor Emeritus, Professor of Physics, and Deputy Principal and Pro Vice Chancellor for Research and Knowledge Transfer. Alan is also a Fellow at Optica and IEEE, as well as the Royal Society of Edinburgh. Alan has also served as the CEO of the Scottish Universities Physics Alliance and as a Board of Trustee member at The Royal Zoological Society of Scotland.
