Lars-Erik Lundin

Lars-Erik Lundin currently serves as Chairman of the Board at DF Sailing Sweden since April 2023 and has been a Coordinator of Research and Member at The Royal Swedish Academy of War Sciences since May 2002. Lundin is also a Distinguished Associate Fellow in the European Security Programme at SIPRI since February 2014. Previous roles include serving on the Board of Trustees for Saferworld from June 2015 to October 2021, and as Senior Research Fellow at the Swedish National Defence College in 2015. Lundin held the position of Senior Research Associate at the Swedish Institute of International Affairs for part of 2012. An extensive diplomatic career includes serving as Ambassador to the European Union from October 2007 to September 2011, Head of Unit for Security Policy at the European Commission from September 2000 to October 2007, and various postings as a diplomat at the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs from 1976 to 1996. Lars-Erik Lundin holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Political Science and International Relations from the University of Gothenburg, earned from 1967 to 1980.
