Sarah Cleveland

Board Member at The Russell Family Foundation

Sarah Cleveland is a Board Member at The Russell Family Foundation. Sarah was previously a Senior Investment Consultant at Towers Watson Investment Services, Inc. from January 2009 to April 2011. During their time at Towers Watson, Sarah consulted with 6 pension and defined contribution (DC) clients with assets exceeding $2 billion, on investment strategy, policy, implementation, and monitoring. Sarah also enhanced brand recognition in the endowment and foundation segment by presenting at industry conferences and developing investment committee performance improvement “tool kits”. In addition, Sarah promoted Towers Watson’s sustainable investment leadership in the US by serving on the board of US SIF: The Forum for Sustainable and Responsible Investment, sponsoring conferences, and introducing a new consulting framework. Finally, they improved governance and stimulated employee participation in a healthcare client’s DC plan by streamlining investment choices as well as DC plan structure across 3 independent vendors. As a result of their work, they were able to reduce the volatility of pension contributions for regulated publicly-traded utility through revised asset/liability strategy that lowered risk as pension funding status improved.

Sarah Cleveland has a MS in Agricultural & Resource Economics from University of Massachusetts Amherst, a BS in Agricultural & Resource Economics also from University of Massachusetts Amherst, and a Diploma in General Studies from Milton Academy. Sarah also has a certification from RFK Center for Justice and Human Rights in RFK Compass Program for Sustainable Investing.
