Angus Bucknell

Doctoral Researcher at The Sainsbury Laboratory

Angus Bucknell is a doctoral researcher at The Sainsbury Laboratory, focusing on Magnaporthe oryzae effector proteins as part of the BBSRC-funded NRPDTP scheme. Prior research experience includes participation in the VBC Summer School at the Gregor Mendel Institute, where involvement in transposon silencing studies with the Marí-Ordóñez group occurred, and a bioinformatics project at the University of Birmingham identifying CACTA transposons in various tree species. Additional experience includes a summer school on cutting-edge plant science organized by the Gatsby Charitable Foundation and roles at Berkeley Squares as a technical director and technical assistant. Angus holds an Integrated Master in Science from the University of Birmingham and is currently pursuing a PhD in Plant-Pathogen Interactions at the University of East Anglia.
