Bob is deeply committed to contributing to the well-being of the financial services community. A well-known and sought-after expert in risk management strategy, he has 50 years of experience leading fraud risk management and risk management strategy. In addition to bringing unique experience as a consultant, educator and expert witness to The Santa Fe Group, he also serves as the principal of RW Jones Associates, LLC and is Adjunct Professor Emeritus of Economic crime at Utica College, where he taught in the school’s M.B.A. in Economic Crime and Fraud Management program. His articles have appeared in the RMA Journal and the Journal of Economic Crime Management.
Before joining the team at The Santa Fe Group, Bob led FleetBoston Financial’s operating risk management programs and chaired the company’s Operating Risk Committee until his retirement in 2004. Prior to FleetBoston, Bob served for 21 years at KeyCorp, where he was responsible for all fraud detection and prevention systems and programs. During his tenure, Bob was instrumental in reengineering KeyCorp’s corporate security function to establish an innovative, customer-focused approach to providing security services. He also investigated and assisted in the prosecution of significant bank fraud cases, including the $1.1 billion Phar-Mor case. During his banking career, Bob served as chair of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners’ Financial Institution Fraud Committee, co-chair of the BITS Fraud Reduction Steering Committee, and founding chair of the American Bankers Association’s Operational Risk Data Sharing Consortium.
