Richard Nugee CB CVO CBE serves as Chief Executive of The Scar Free Foundation since April 2023 and holds the position of Advisory Partner at Climate VC since June 2022. Additionally, Richard Nugee chairs Remit Zero, Lenz Labs, and Uplift 360, roles maintained since May 2021. From March 2021 to December 2023, Richard Nugee was a Non-Executive Director at the UK Ministry of Defence, having previously served as Chief of Defence People from April 2016 to March 2020. Other notable positions include ACDS Pers Cap and DS Sec (April 2015 - May 2016), COS in Operations (October 2013 - January 2015), and DG Pers in HM Forces (June 2012 - September 2013). Richard Nugee's military experience includes serving as DM(A) in the British Army from 2009 to 2012 and as Commanding Officer of the 40th Regiment Royal Artillery from 2003 to 2005. Richard Nugee obtained a BA Hons in Anthropology from Durham University (1982-1985) and completed a course at the Cambridge Institute of Sustainability Leadership, University of Cambridge, in 2019.

The Scar Free Foundation is a medical research charity, whose mission is to achieve scar free healing within a generation and transform the lives of those affected by disfiguring conditions. Founded in 1999 as the Healing Foundation, we have supported over 20 million pounds of life-changing research into wound healing and reconstructive surgery. We are chaired by Professor Sir Bruce Keogh (former National Medical Director of NHS England).
